legalized EUTHANASIA??? part.3

.............

Another consideration that supports the disagreement of non-legalized euthanasia comes to the part of medical improvement by applying some medical researches. Medical research is essential that will affect any medicine and medical treatment become advanced further and improved better. If it is analyzed further to the future, there should be any improvement in medical treatment and research rather than legalized euthanasia. Some people argued that prolongation of life by medical living support without reasonable prospect is cruel, so that it should be legalized (bbc.co.uk). Then we will justify with the previous point mentioned. If the rest of countries in the world legalize euthanasia, it will weaken and undermine the improvement of medical research. Any physicians or doctors related and have potential to make advanced in scientific and health care knowledge won’t get enough motivation that some people who are terminally ill will simply ended by euthanasia. They will not feel encouraged and urged to make the improvement. Likewise the fund needed to make it legalized, it is certain that it will cost some money because legalization is related with law. Rather than the funds are being diverted to fuel the strategy of ‘search and destroy’ it is better to ‘care and console’. The funds are better used for medical improvement.

All in all, euthanasia is not a simple practice towards terminally ill patient for their death. Some assumptions that it is a mercy-killing, ending life with dignity, a right to die, a right to end suffering without pain are nevertheless not appropriate for its definition because no mercy in killing, God is the most determiner about dignity, indeed it is a right to kill, and no evidence proves it can eliminate pain. Legalizing euthanasia also gives impact for the doctors’ role. They break International Code of Medical Ethics and Hippocratic Oath, give possibility of making mistake about it, would not have any guilt in killing people once they are allowed and get use of it, and lose the trustfulness of other patient on them. The other bad predictable effect of legalizing euthanasia is that it will undermine medical research so that there would not be any improvement, and the fund will be spent more for legalizing it than for the medical improvement. By reviewing, considering, and analyzing deeply several aspects which are strongly related to euthanasia, it can be believed firmly that euthanasia should not be legalized.

legalized EUTHANASIA??? part.2

............

Euthanasia is an assisted-suicide. In this case the one who assisted the patient to do euthanasia is the doctor. Doctors are the main doers of euthanasia, but those who practiced legalized euthanasia should not be simply considered as innocent figure. There are so many assumptions that it is humanitarian choice, the decision is up to the patient and their families, so that the doctors’ assistance is purely not based on their choice and order. On the other hand, it is obviously seen that doctors practiced it break the International Code of Medical Ethics, which declares “a doctor must always bear in mind the obligation of observing human life from the time of conception until death (bmj.com). If euthanasia is legalized, doctors who practiced it will also abandonee The Hippocratic Oath that states “I will give no deadly medicine to anyone if asked, nor suggest such counsel…” .These facts show that any traditional medical ethics codes have never purify euthanasia.

If it comes to the argument that it is not the doctor’s choice, we must admit against it that the doctor is the first person who gives diagnosis and explanation that the patient is no longer live and gives basis information and offer euthanasia. Doctors are only human and it can be very difficult for them to be entirely objective about their own situation. Those who regularly manage terminally ill patients must realize that they often suffer from depression or false sense of worthlessness which may affect their judgment to the patient. It can be the doctors’ failure to adequate symptom control. Doctors’ encouragement to euthanasia can be because of they do not up to date with the newest treatments available and anticipated degree of future suffering for the patients who are terminally ill. One could also say legalizing it will also give physiological effect to the doctors, that once the doctors are allowed and start killing, it is possible for them to carry on doing it continuously without feeling any guilt. Then if this phenomenon happens, who will trust the doctors to take care of other patients? Will the other patients comfortable knowing their doctors have killed other patients?. If it legalized, euthanasia will give so much power to doctors as the main doers.

Assisted Suicide; Should It be Legalized, or Not?!

LET's ThiNkIN' of EUTHANASIA....

Every creature in this world, including human, experience the cycles of life starting from pregnancy, being born, live in this world with its problematic aspects of life, and ended all with death. From all of the steps or cycles of life, death is the most questionable and provokes a lot of contradictive opinions and arguments if it is seen in the eyes of science and technology. The only answer which is right is in religions and beliefs. Nevertheless, human are very curious about anything and feels very smart that they can observe, think, analyze, consider, take decision for anything in this world include his or her fate or others’. This feeling of dignity as human being have been related to the death for a long time, then it contributed euthanasia term to this world. Euthanasia is the practice of voluntarily having a medically assisted death (wikipedia.org).

Some countries have legalized euthanasia such as; Columbia, Japan, Netherlands, Oregon State of America, Switzerland, and Belgium (free-essays.com and solusihukum.com). These countries tries to vanishing people’s suffering because of several conditions of people; terminally ill and chronically ill, elderly, depressed, and disabled to do anything. Terminally ill is the condition of sick people which is can not be cured and it leads to death, and chronically ill is in similar condition that takes chronological dropped condition leading to death. Depressed, elderly, and disabled people are in the same weak and helpless condition like blind, deaf, dumb, and paralyzed. Moreover, there are three ways or methods of Physician-Assisted suicide; the first is Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s “Suicide Machine”. In this process, the patient must first activate it by pushing a button, and then there are three solutions are injected in order; a harmless saline, a sleep-inducing active, and the lethal drugs. The second, with the face mask in which the patient wears it and then carbon monoxide is pumped through which poisons the patient. The last is plastic bag suffocation (free-essays.com). However the role of euthanasia should be considered more whether it should be legalized by the rest of countries or not. Does it really understood by the people?, does it is really needed and useful?, who are the people straightly involved in the practice of euthanasia?, what is the effect of legalizing euthanasia?, these are the questions that will lead us to several assumptions, arguments, and opinions. Then, it will be clear that euthanasia should not be legalized because of several considerations.

How is euthanasia in ‘the eyes’ of some people? Before the rest of countries legalize euthanasia, it is very essential that the truth understanding about euthanasia should be analyzed further. There are some definitions of euthanasia that it is a mercy-killing, ending life with dignity, a right to die, and a right to end suffering without pain as it is stated in some articles in bbc.co.uk.com and enotes.com. Euthanasia is known as the mercy-killing but it simply taking one’s own life without mercy. Mercy, according to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary is a kind of event to be grateful for because it stops something unpleasant. While in the other hand killing is causing death or causing somebody to die. There is no connection between the contradicted words as one shows pleasant thing and another shows unpleasant thing. Remember, there is no mercy in killing; indeed it places a lower value on another’s life. Besides, God is the most authorized determiner about the time of death and whether one’s death will be in dignity or not. God decides when one’s life should end. Ending life with dignity is a moral event, with a complex meaning that must be understood through moral ideas. On the contrary of the assumption that euthanasia is a right to die, it is must be highlighted that legalizing euthanasia is not a claim for the patient to have the right to die, it is in fact a claim for the doctor to have the right to kill the patient. The one side who needs the law of legalized euthanasia is the doctor not the patient, and without the legalized euthanasia the doctor who is judged as guilty. Answering the questioned opinion the euthanasia is a right to end suffering without pain is actually does not need difficult and deep explanation, because there is no prove at all that death by euthanasia will be not painful because there is no dead people tells his experiences or says so.
